bold. The start time of Club Competitions will be determined by the Club Captain but would not be earlier than 10:30 am. Unless stated, mêlées
are from 1:00pm for a 1:30pm start.
The game of boules played on a gravel terrain in almost every
town and village in France has become a popular sport in the
Pétanque Club, celebrating its 27th anniversary
in 2016, is one of the larger clubs in Britain with around
80 members. Conveniently situated near the M3 on the Hampshire
- Surrey border, and close to the towns of Fleet and Farnham,
the Club is ideally placed to host major competitive pétanque
Seven teams took part in the annual Club Doubles Competition held on 20th August. The Doubles Champions for 2016 were Alan Wilson & Mike Wright. For full results click here.
Fox & Hounds Challenge Shield
16 Crondall players travelled to the Ship Inn at Owslebury for this annual competition which is now in its 27th year. After 15 triples games in the morning and 21 doubles after lunch, the results was a win for Crondall 21-15 and the return of the shield after a two year absence.
Four teams competed on a very hot 23rd July. The winning team comprised Francis Spooner, Lucy Wellings and Melody Spooner. For full results click here.
Bastille Day Mêlée
Thirteen members competed on a warm and sunny 16th July. The mêlée was won by Etsil Boukhobza. For full results click here.
Club Mixed Doubles
Seven teams took part in the 2016 Mixed Doubles Competition held on 25th June. The winners were Mike and Margaret Gilbert (centre). Runners-up were Alan Paice & Maureen Moir (left) and in 3rd place were Lucy Wellings & Francis Spooner (right). For full results click here.

May Bank Holiday Melee
Sixteen members competed on a wrm and sunny 28th May. The mêlée was won by Lesley Crofts (centre). For full results click here.
Club Singles Competition
Eight members entered the Club Singles Competition on 14th May. After playing 6 games each the new Singles Champion was Mike Wright (centre). Runner-up was Colin Crofts (left) and in 3rd place was Steve Davies (right).
